Welcome to our Extra School Activities
At Alne we offer a wide range of Extra Curricular activities:
Mr Platt and Mr Davey run a Football club for Key Stage 2 on a Wednesday evening during the autumn months. At the same time Mrs Robson runs a netball club. Our teams take part in numerous tournaments and performed extremely well during the recent Cluster tournaments at Easingwold Secondary School. As well as netball, Mrs Robson organises a running club, training the children in preparation for the Galtres Run in May.
Mr Chappell's also coaches Tag Rugby, our team are the current 2012 North Yorkshire Champions.
Homework club runs on a Wednesday evening for Years 5 and 6, during the spring term. Children can come along and meet with the teachers to go over work done in class, complete a project, revise for SATs or just complete homework set. There are always lots of members of staff available to lend a hand and support the children.
Mrs Teale runs an ICT/ Reporters Club for Years 5 and 6.
Maths club runs on a lunchtime, with Mrs Harpin, Mr Davey and a group of year 5 'Maths club leaders.' Children of all ages are welcome to come along and play a maths game, from the games pack or computer. We also offer a loaning system, where children can take a game home to play for a week.
Mrs Harpin and Mrs Hewison run the school ensemble during assembly time on a Thursday. We are a group of approximately 20 children, playing a range of instruments, including; flutes, clarinets, cornets, recorders, saxophones, keyboard and percussion. We enjoy performing too.
Mrs Hopper, Mrs Teale and Mrs Hewison all run different ability recorder groups throughout the week.
