Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

At Alne we have 5 house groups, all of our children belong to a house group as well as their class and they earn house points.  We enjoy the competition of hearing the house point scores each week in assembly.  Over the year we are involved in a variety of house challenges.  Each year begins with our year 6 speeches, when their house groups vote for their house captains.  The quality of the speeches are just incredible.  Here are a few examples:

"Did you watch the Olympics over the summer?...

I watched it and I thought it was inspirational. Do you know why?...

It was because all of the athletes were trying their hardest to do their best for Team GB.

I think we should do the same for our school and team Kestrel.  It doesn't matter where you finish as long as you join in and try your hardest.  I'm not just talking about sports, I'm talking about everything we do.  There are people that are a bit shy and nervous about talking to other people and joining in, but I can help with that as a year 6.  I think we should look after the younger children and try to boost their confidence.  Some people might feel left out but we should try to help them join in. We should do this by being kind, listening to them and encouraging them - not by bossing them around.

If you vote for me I will try to spread the Olympic spirit around school.  Go team Kestrel!" by Evie.
